Loxy Reflective Fabric, 42" Wide

Retroreflective fabric from Loxy, a Norwegian manufacturer whose reflective materials are specified into workwear, emergency services kit, and technical outdoor garments worldwide. This is the same material, sold in a width you can cut panels from rather than a narrow tape.

Loxy reflective is built on a layer of high-index glass beads over a polymer film, bonded to a textile backing. The beads return light straight back toward its source, which is why it reads as ordinary dark fabric in daylight and lights up hard when a headlight or a headlamp hits it. It is a genuine safety material rather than a decorative shiny finish.

At 42" wide it is unusually generous for reflective. Most of this material reaches makers as tape in narrow rolls, which limits you to trim strips and piping. At this width you can cut full panels, yokes, pocket faces, logo blocks, and shaped pieces, and place reflectivity by design rather than by whatever the tape width allows.

The textile backing means it sews rather than heat-presses. Treat it like a mid-weight coated fabric: a sharp needle, a longer stitch, and a walking foot or roller foot if you have one, since the surface can drag under a standard presser foot. Clips rather than pins where you can, because holes stay.
