ReFasten started in late 2021 with a simple frustration. Our founder, Colin, makes his own gear, and every project ran into the same wall: if you wanted to repair a favourite pack, build something from scratch, or just find the right zipper slider, you were usually out of luck in Canada.

Most technical sewing supplies were either unavailable here, buried in wholesale catalogues with high minimums, or sitting in US warehouses with shipping and duties that turned a $4 zipper into a $20 decision. The MYOG and ultralight community was building shelters, backpacks and kit in basements and garages across the country, but the supply chain hadn't caught up.

So we built the shop we wanted to exist.
