MARA 70

Gutermann MARA 70 is a Tex 40 polyester thread built on MCT, or Micro Core Technology: a fine continuous filament core wrapped in staple fibre. That construction lets it be thin for its strength, so seams sit flat and neat without the bulk you'd expect from a thread this tough.

Tex 40 is the lighter of the two MARA weights we stock. It's the one to reach for on ultralight builds, stuff sacks, pockets, apparel, and anywhere a finer stitch looks better and a heavy thread would perforate the fabric. For pack bodies, shoulder straps, and load-bearing seams, step up to MARA 50 in Tex 60. The wrapped surface feeds cleanly and runs dust and lint free, which matters on a long production run when you don't want fluff building up in the tension discs.

Fifteen colours, the widest range we carry, so you can match or contrast your fabric properly rather than settling for the nearest black. This is a stocked line, not deadstock, so you can come back for more of the same colour when a project grows or a run repeats.
