Ultra 200X is the fabric that reset expectations for what an ultralight pack can survive. A 200 denier UHMWPE face, roughly two thirds Ultra fibre blended with high-tenacity polyester, laminated to a 0.75 mil polyester film. At 3.9 oz per square yard it tears harder and abrades better than fabrics twice its weight.
The X is the part that matters more than the name suggests. A thin black Ultra CrossPly yarn runs at 45 degrees to the warp.
Waterproofing is not a coating here, it is a film, and it holds over 200 psi. That is well past anything weather will throw at it, which means the only water getting into your build comes through the holes you make. Seal or tape the seams with UltraTNT PSA Tape and the bag is genuinely dry.
It sews easily for a laminate. It lies flat, feeds cleanly, and does not shift under the foot the way an uncoated ripstop does. It also does not fray, making it even easier to work with.
Best for ultralight and frameless backpacks, bikepacking bags, dry bags, stuff sacks, pack bottoms and high wear panels, and anything where you are counting grams but still need the thing to last. Available in Black Magic, Gravel Grey, White Lightning, Mandarin and Fuchsia Raspberry. Sold per half yard and shipped folded.

Before you cut
Use a sharp or microtex needle in size 14 to 16 with a Tex 70 bonded thread. A smaller needle and a slightly longer stitch length means fewer, cleaner holes through the film.
Do not pin inside the panel. Every pin hole is a permanent hole in a waterproof film. Use clips or double sided basting tape.
The film side goes inside the bag. It is the waterproof layer and it is not the abrasion layer.
Tape or seal your seams if the build needs to be dry. The fabric is waterproof, your stitch line is not. UltraTNT PSA Tape bonds directly to the film side.
