Lubrication isn't optional on a TIZIP. The sealing elements need a film of grease to close properly and to slide without dragging, and a dry zipper is the most common reason a waterproof closure starts to stiffen or leak. This is the original TIZIP lubricant, the same product the manufacturer specifies.

Clean the zipper before you apply it, since grease over grit does more harm than no grease at all. Lay down a thin film along the interlocking elements and the sealing lip, then run the zipper fully open and closed several times to work it in evenly.

How often depends on the model. MasterSeal ports want attention after long storage. SuperSeal needs lubricant along the elements and sealing lips, including on a brand new zipper before first use. WaterSeal needs occasional greasing. Check the manual for your specific zipper, and when in doubt, lubricate before a trip rather than after.
