EP50 KC is an ultralight ripstop for makers counting every gram. At just 54 gsm it's one of the lightest fabrics in the lineup, a fine 50d ripstop with a water-resistant coating that packs down to almost nothing. The ripstop grid keeps a stray snag from spreading, so it stays surprisingly tough for how thin and light it is.
It's the natural pick for the inside and the overhead of a kit: pack liners, stuff sacks, pockets, wind shells, and economical tarps where low weight and a bit of water protection matter more than abrasion resistance. Made by Challenge, the same mill behind the EcoPak laminates, so the quality is there even in a budget-friendly ultralight cloth.
A quick note on water protection: EP50 KC is water-resistant, good for liners, sacks, and light-duty tarps, but for anything that needs to stand up to sustained rain look at the waterproof EcoPak laminates. Sold per half yard at a generous 60 inches wide, and shipped folded.
Pair it with webbing and hardware for closures and tie-outs, a zipper for pouches, or browse more recycled and technical fabrics.
