Ecopak™ EPX200

Ecopak EPX200 is a recycled, waterproof laminate built for serious gear, and it's one of the easier technical fabrics to actually sew. Made by Challenge Sailcloth, it pairs a recycled polyester face with a diagonal reinforcement grid and a waterproof film, then backs it with a ripstop, giving you a fabric that's light, structured, and genuinely waterproof. It holds its shape, lies flat after cutting, and feeds cleanly through a machine, which is why so many makers reach for it on packs, bike bags, pouches, and just about any bag project.

What sets Ecopak apart is that the performance comes with a real environmental story. The woven components are 100% Repreve recycled polyester, the film is fully recycled and UV resistant, and the water-repellent finish is a C0 DWR with no fluorocarbons, no PVC, and no TPU. It's made without VOCs, and every yard saves over a pound of CO2 compared with virgin pack fabric. Even the signature 45 degree CrossPly is designed to cut waste by improving how panels nest on the cloth.

The fabric itself is waterproof, so for a fully weatherproof build you'll just want to seal or tape the seams. It's sold per half yard and shipped folded, in a deep range of colours from Black Knight and Coyote Brown to Tropic Teal, Lilac, and Bright Orange. Not sure of a shade? Order a sample swatch first.
