Silicone coated ripstop nylon at 1.58 oz per square yard, the classic ultralight tarp fabric. The silicone soaks into the yarns rather than sitting on top as a film, which is what keeps it this light while staying waterproof and giving it a soft hand that packs down small.
It's the standard for flat tarps, ridgeline shelters, pyramid tents, and ultralight stuff sacks, and at 56" wide you can get a decent tarp panel out of it without piecing. Six colours, so you can build bright for visibility or dark to stay unobtrusive.
Worth knowing before you cut. Silnylon is slippery, so pin or clip generously and use a fine needle to keep the holes small. Silicone won't take conventional seam tape, so plan on a silicone-based seam sealer for anything that has to stay dry. Nylon also relaxes slightly when wet, so a tarp that's drum tight at pitch will need retensioning after a night of rain.
Sold by the half yard and cut continuously, shipped folded, across Canada and worldwide.
