A piping clip is what lets a chest strap slide up and down a backpack shoulder strap to find the right height. It clips onto a length of piping sewn into the strap and locks in wherever you set it, so the sternum strap sits exactly where it's comfortable.
It's a common feature on pack shoulder straps, and a handy upgrade when you want a height-adjustable sternum strap on a build or a repair. Moulded from acetal, it's light, strong, and made to slide smoothly and hold its position through plenty of use.
