Schoeller® Scotchlite® Reflective Fabric

This is Schoeller Scotchlite reflective fabric. In daylight it reads as a plain textured black nylon. Under a flash, headlights, or any direct light hitting it at night, the reflective yarn woven through the weft lights up silver and white.

The reflective effect comes from Scotchlite yarn, glass beads carried inside the yarn itself, worked into the weft in a dot or stripe pattern rather than laminated or printed on top. That's part of why it holds up better over time than reflective tape or heat transfer vinyl, since the reflective element is part of the weave, not a coating sitting on the surface.

Base cloth is 95% polyamide 6.6 with the remaining 5% glass fibre carried in the reflective yarn. Either side can be your show face depending on how you want the reflective pattern to sit.

Good for reflective trim and paneling on jackets, vests, and pants, appliques and patches, dog coats and other pet gear, and accent panels on packs, bike bags, and motorcycle bags. The reflective yarn reads best at trim or panel scale rather than as a full garment face, so most makers use it as an accent rather than the whole shell.
