A 10 oz cotton canvas at 59 inches wide, woven from 100% cotton. Ten ounces is a genuine mid weight: heavy enough to hold a shape without interfacing, light enough that a domestic machine will sew it without complaint.
The construction is a plain weave. That structure is what gives canvas its stability. It presses flat, holds a crease, and takes an iron happily, which makes boxed corners, gussets, and folded hems far easier to control than they are on a coated or laminated fabric.
Because there is no finish on it, this canvas is a blank base. It takes wax, dye, paint, and DWR treatments the way a coated fabric never will, which is why it is the standard starting point for anyone waxing their own material or overdyeing a colour they cannot buy.
Cotton canvas at this weight is the traditional choice for totes, aprons, shop bags, tool rolls, cushion covers, and utility packs. Untreated means it will wet through in sustained rain, so if you want weather resistance you either wax it yourself or line it.
Sold by the half yard and cut continuously, so ordering four gets you a single two yard piece rather than four separate cuts. Shipped folded. Swatch samples are available if you want to check a colour in person first.
